Changing trends:
More people are moving to Kilkenny, especially re-locating from Dublin, for improved quality of life, great hospitality, a wealth of arts and cultural activities, a clean environment and excellent educational facilities.
Re-Locators:
A burgeoning population segment in Kilkenny is the "Re-Locators", people in their early-twenties to mid-forties, who telework from home using the internet or have started their own business. While several large multinationals are located here, Kilkenny is also a hub for small entrepreneurs, employing 3-4 people. A recent survey of residential property found that over 50% of sales in one area was to re-locators, either returning to Kilkenny or choosing to move here from Dublin/Kildare.
